Hello, just thought I'd post this on here and see if anyone had any answers

fitted some black widow SS exhaust headers due to the OEM corroding and since doing this I have noticed power loss at 5-7K rpm. It's as if the bike chokes and then kicks back in after 7k, I know this isn't normal because I can normally have the front wheel up at 5k in First. I am changing my air filter this week to see if that rectifies the problem but I find it strange how its happening just as my new exhaust headers are on. Any ideas?

FYI it's the 2001 f4i with only 18K miles.

New headers aren't a good design it seems. Never heard of them, or headers corroding so I'm assuming your in England. What your describing is a bog and can either be a fueling issue or just a badly designed set of pipes. Air filter causing a problem is seriously doubtfull.

I bought my bike (2001 F4i) about 18 months ago with loads of paperwork.
Found out I had a "Sandy bikes" downpipe which is advised on forums to avoid because it`s badly designed. (No link pipes between the outer two and the very left one is in different angle).

Last December (2016) I bought a Motad SS downpipe which is designed as the copy of the original.
After I fitted it I had a lot more torque (power) around the 6k marks.

(Before I bought it I emailed Motad asking if they have any pipes for my bike and they offered one for £199 if I buy it within 10 days. It was a no brainer).
