coils usually die at high RPM .. so wouldnt think its that .... try this... start the bike from dead cold, and leave to idle with the lumpy business... now touch each header and see if they all feel the same temp (or use an IR temp sensor if u have one) .. if some are a lot colder compared to the others then u can use this as a big clue to whats happening and where to focus on the troubleshooting.

Fair point, at high rpm the bike is absolutely lovely it's only troublesome at down low.

Also I tested the pipes using a heat measurement gun from work and all pipes were at the same temperature: 121C. I guess all cylinders are pulling their weight.

that sounds a bit hot for immediate startup... was that after it has warmed up?? i usually test the temps the second its started... one hand on the pipes, one on the starter button and see which warms up faster lol

I took those temps after the bike has run for a minute

I checked the stored fault codes on the computer and got this. I don't know how to read it.

It seems to be 2 codes 1 blink (0.5seconds) and then 9 blinks(0.5 seconds)

According to my manual John those MIL codes are as follows.
The 1 blink=
Loose or poor contacts on MAP sensor connector.
Open or short circuit in MAP sensor wire.
Faulty MAP Sensor

The 9 Blinks=
Loose or poor contact on the IAT sensor
open or short circuit on IAT sensor wire.

These are from the Clymer manual page 323-324. let me know if I can help with anything else.

That's brilliant thanks.
This would explain my issues. IAT sensor would adjust the speed of the engine based on temperature so if that's faulty it would cause erratic idle and map sensor is responsible to tell the computer how much fuel to inject based on air. I have found to how to clear the codes which I have done now, will ride for a day or two and see if the codes come back, if they do I will inspect those sensors!!!

Thank you

Well i've cleared the fault codes and went for a ride and nothing has changed but when I came back and checked again the fault codes did not come back.

So this weekend I will take the fairing and tank off and inspect all the hoses

That sucks, hoped fixing those codes would have fixed it for you. Post up any other questions, and I'll search through my manual to help anyway I can.

Well I inspected all the hoses and everything that I could get my hands on but didn't see anything out of place SO i guess I'll just need to take it to garage and ask them to find the fault
