RE: Cam chain tensioner ??
i just replaced mine with a stock one wasnt to bad to do, just have to be patient and work in a small place there is plenty articles on the web, step by step on how to do it. Took me about hour and a half to do it and 30 mins was trying to get the socket out of the engine area where i dropped it.
Just wondering how often do you get up to 15k, mine was making noise at about 2k to 3k.

check out this thread lots of great info on this https://cbrforum.com/m_85570/tm.htm
from what it seems the sound is only an annoyance no one reported any issues from not changing it like the chain skipping a tooth and destroying the engine there did however seem to be a couple ppl who put on the manual tensioner and adjusted it too tight which did mess it up. im basically choosing to live with the sound until someone can show solid proof that this will damage the engine.

yo mang...check it...
APE's site claims that theirs is all good and stuff for racing and what not, blah blah blah...that's all their claims or else no one is going to buy it, but yea a lot of racers do use it...
my take is this...i don't want to mess up trying to figure out exactly how much tension to use if the stocker does that for me already...
so...the stocker's known to rattle here and there, but it's by no means failing...i would rather swap it out every 10K or so...just in time to change the fuel filter...figure the tank has to come off anyway, so what better time than this?
as far as the cctl, some dealers will fix it for free. i gots mine done like after mah warranty was out...but they still fixed it cause they know it's a rattling part...after that i swapped mah own cause i like to know mah ride.

Tahoe SC said it, why not change it i changed mine because it was annoying and sounded bad, but if it does skip timing then you are in more trouble than you want. I guess its preventive mantinence.
If you go to order one from a honda dealer make sure you order the cam chain tensioner lifter. the cam chain tensioner is what it puts pressure on that the chain runs on. i made this mistake.
