Default 2006 CBR 600 F4i

Hello,

I had a question for you guys. I had a minor accident last week turning left avoiding a big pot hole and fell on the left side and started sliding like 10 ft hit the curb and damaged the stator cover and engine case. Im not sure if I should do a engine swap or just rebuild with buying the upper and lower honda kit. Honda repair guy said it was either going to be 1000$ vs 2000$ im not sure what to do. It wasnt that bad of a fall but i guess the curb ****ed me. I will attach a picture of the damage, there was minor scratches, turn signal broke, and mirror. He also was telling me that some guys just wield the cracks for a lot less but your taking a higher chance of engine failure/messing it up even more. let me know what you guys think. thank you

Do you have a closer picture of the damaged case?

I've never seen a bike that mildly damaged hurt the cases. Hell most totaled bikes don't hurt the cases. I can't believe its anything more then a very tiny crack which I'd get welded. Replace the stator cover.

That's pretty bad. You need to find a good welder and see what he thinks and how much it will be. You may find that the cost of a motor, complete or at least a usable case, won't be much more that repairing that.
