oooh! we haven't answered this one yet... Can I drop 1994 F2 upper fork components (tubes and cartridge assembly) into 91-93 F2 lower fork legs? I ask this because I recently shattered a fork leg on my oh-so-precious 94 cartridge forks.

Took a little risk on eBay, have an answer for myself.

Yes, 91-93 fork legs are the same as 94 legs. 94 upper tube and cartridge assembly drops into any year f2 legs.

i hear 94 f2 forks are better than the previous f2 years, is this true? are the 94 forks an f3 style? or is f3 better than 94 f2 too?

Look earlier in the thread. 94 F2s have cartridge forks, 91-93 F2s don't. While the 94 F2 and all F3's have cartridge forks, the 94 cartridge fork is slightly inferior to the F3 fork.

I'm gonna drag this out of the abyss to ask...

Can anyone tell me if the 1997 Blackbird 1100XX upper fork tubes are the same as either the F2/F3 tubes? I know the lowers are totally different but I would like to know if the upper chrome tubes are the same diameter (ID/OD). Length is not so much of an issue since I can shim the springs if needed.

Don't believe it will just fit right in. Most likely going to have to do some modding, but not saying its not worth it seeing as you will have an F4i front end.

I have seen a lot of more bikes with the gsxr 750 front end, the shocks are a bit bigger and make the front end more beefy.

your quickest fix woulda been to just get f3 forks again, im plannig to get it for my f2.
