Question Oil & grease removal

Hey guys, Alright so I have my F4i stripped down to nothing but frame, wiring, engine, and tires, and I was wondering what you all use to remove oil and grease from all of your parts, including products, brushes, cloths etc. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

I use either Simple Green or WD-40. If you're using WD-40 keep it away from the chain.

I noticed the two bikes in the background. Do you do much cycling? I put more miles per year on my pedal bikes than I do my CBR.

WD-40 is awesome to remove grease from bike parts. I buy it by the gallon and put it in a squirt bottle. I also use nylon brushes of different shapes and sizes. A toothbrush also works great. Just follow it up with degreaser like Simple Green.

If you can get the part off of the bike, a parts washer is the way to go... They are expensive but I have access to one at work.

Elbow-grease! ;-) Yeah, SimpleGreen & WD40 are good. I also use mineral-spirits on those harder to clean parts as well.

Nothing wrong w/ using WD40 on your chain. I use it on my chain regularly to clean & always get max life out of my chains.

WD-40 is a penetrant. Not a good thing for the greased that's packed behind the chain's O-rings.

Yeah man those are actually our "street bikes" and I have my mountain bike up in the corner for the long distance rides There are a ton of trails in ATL that we visit often. It also gives me good training for riding my motorcycle. Balance is a virtue.

Alright so I will probably head to the store tomorrow to snag some simple green. Sounds like it and WD-40 are the shiz. lol Im gonna have to try that dryer sheet. Im gonna attack my bike with the freshness of Arm and Hammer lol!

Here we go again with this debate! The WD stands for Water Displacement, formula #40.

Lol I've used WD-40 on all of my chains, I dont think there is any harm doing so, And just like vfrman said, it stands for water displacement. It's all good.
