Well it was quite obvious on my bike when mine was too tight. Kinda like how you know your primary drive chain is too tight. It just sounds and feels different.

I believe mine had a noticeable whine to it when accelerating. I just loosen mine with the motor idling, just enough till it feels like it's going to start to rattle, then I tightened it a full turn.

i just loosened the locking nut all the way.... and my ape tensioner screws in and out so freely, i could easily tell when it touched the cam guide. the instructions said that once i feel it hit the guide, back out a 1/4 turn and lock it up.

i took it for a test ride, no rattle, and i feel that it's good

you'll notice that it'll get some resistance when tightening it on - that's it. it won't feel like hitting a wall because the guide can easily move, but when you feel the slightest resistance on it, you're good.

Don't feel bad, I couldn't tell when it touched either, but I sure can hear when it's not touching.

there's always more than one way to skin a cat as they say...

and the important thing to remember a lil loose is a lot better than a lil too tight.

Hi Guys, does a CBR 900/919RR Manaual CCT fits the 929 and 954 RR? Basically 93-98 CCT is same as 01-03 CCT? I have a 900RR CCT with me and want to fit it on the 954.

Well the part number is different for 900RR and 929/954. You could try if it fits.
