It's because on most block off plates, you do need to remove them. It's the rule of thumb.

I had 2 954's. I did the PAIR mod twice. On my first one, I went with OPP racing block off plates. I DID have to remove those screws. You take a flat head screw driver, wedge out the reeds, then drill out the screws on a press. You put them back in and then the block off plates sit flush on the rubber from the reeds.

On the second 954, I did it with the Driven's. And it's true, you can just pop the covers off and put the Driven's on. There's no need to drill those screws off. In the pictures, you can clearly see the spot milled for the screws on the reed. They sit flush with with the rubber with the screws on.

So with the Driven's, you don't need to remove the set screws. Make sure the orientation of the plate is the right way. If they're upside down, they won't sit flush - because the spots for the screws will be on the wrong side

hi all, I'm an overseas sc50 enthousiast, there is simply more information in these parts of the world than over in europe. Anyways when I see this mod it seems to me that it is fairly easy to execute, but I think I've never seen anybody talk about the elektrical part of it. If you remove the paire valve which means disconnect hoses and wire connector will you end up with a blinking Fi light? And do you leave the breather hose fom cylinderhead cover attached to the airbox.

cheers Bart

No, you will not get an FI light. I cut off the plug, and shrink wrapped the wires to stop corrosion.

thanks Conrice, the reason I asked is because I recently bought a full exhaust and I'm planning to take the pair valves off. I just ordered the driven block of plates.
Which leads me to the next question, the full exhaust is a serpent hydratech from micron. I didn't know they were out of business, which means I didn't make my homework.

Now I tried to find a decent mapping but there aren't a whole lot micron exhaust owner where I live. There is a mapping availble via PC website but apparently you need to have the bike tuned anyway to have it run properly.

So anybody interested sharing his mapping?

Also I don't really like the cans, obviously I bought the system for a low price since it was the last one in stock and they we're cleaning out the stock. I noticed the offered a whole range of colours but I think the weak point is the gaskets, are they still available somewhere?

cheers Bart

Default Block off plate mod

Hi I am Pont, I have the 07 cbr1000rr and the 08 cbr1000rr among 3 other bikes...I just joined
I've been reading your post and wondered if anyone ever thought of saving there money for something better and just took the junk off and use silicon hose and bolt or a cap like that on a converter smog pump tube ? Seems it would do the same job to me. Personally that's my route i am going. Seem nothing else would interfere and save money at same time .??? Any input ??
