Default Cluster cutting out

Hey all,
Like the title says my cluster has been cutting out randomly for the 3 years I've owned the bike. I've gone all over trying to fix this including another cluster and new battery. What I've noticed is it particularly does it when it's colder outside . When I turn the key the backlight will come on but nothing will show. This sometimes affects my tach as well. A lot of the times the clock and trip resets which is annoying. One thing I noticed is if I push on the cluster it will sometimes come back on. Seems like an easy solution right? The plug in the back being suspect ? The only problem is when it's warmer out and it doesn't do it I can shake the cluster to make it do it. So if it were a loose connection I would think Id be able to. The only time it typically does it while riding is in the beginning of the ride. Sorry this is lengthy I wanted to inform as much as possible to hopefully get some help before I cave and pay for the fix. I also check the harness on the right hand side all is good there. Any ideas? I would really love to get this fixed. Thanks in advance

I recall a member that had a similar issue with his 929. Turned out to be a smoked wire in the back of one of the large connectors. I think it was where the front harness meets the main harness.

Hmm ok. I'll have to find where you are talking about. I've checked on the right sidr where there are two clips/plugs. I have the bike all torn apart to replace a cracked plug coil so I'll look more. From what I know the two plugs on the right side are the only ones running wires to the cluster but again I'm certainly no expert on the wiring
