Does any have a spare ecu that could be bought cheap for testing. Trying to get the 954 ecu flashed..

 

Can they do that? I was told only more modern ecu's can be flashed but could be wrong

 

That is what i'm trying to find out. But there shouldn't be anything stopping why it couldn't be flashed....

 

Why only modern ECUs?

I'd think any ECU could be "flashed".... Just probably not worthwhile for someone to put in the time on an older bike....

 

A local tuner told me a CBR1100XX ECU couldn't' be flashed. He has an excellent reputation so I believed him.

 

Tuners don't hack the ecus or develop the software for flashing. They just use it....

 

Mine does. Flashing is a modern tool to remove or change things that have been put on a bike built in the modern age. The 954 doesn't have secondary butterflies, a top speed limiter or other criteria for flashing. Power commander is all you need.

 

What do you think i need? I can tell you i need little more then the power commander can do. Tuners that flash ecus normally just use the software. Your telling me your tuner developed the software he uses to flash ecus? I kind of doubt that. And your knowledge of what can be done by flashing or what it is falls little short.

 

What more can you do than what a powercommander do?

 

Ditch, he needs another 1500 RPMs,the ability to run different TBs, really advanced ignition timing, etc.


Mika has done a TON of work to his engine and is looking for more. The guys that helped build his engine are well known Finnish drag racers.


For example - I'm looking for more than a power commander too. I'm looking for an HRC ECU (one for a 1000rr to put on my 954). Granted I'm running 08 1000rr TBs... But I've settled on those. I think Mika wants to experiment and try to find the best setup...
