Default Better steering stem bearings?

Hi, I'm new, and this might be too obscure, but--have you tried tapered bearings in place of the standard ***** for the steering stems of all-year 900RRs? I just saw a new pair on the bay and they sure look the business. You have to see them, they look like beefy S&M collars for my innocent little Honda (except they'll be invisible once installed--but I'll know they're there). I am replacing the lower triple clamp on my OG '93 and I saw these parts from Pyramid (from Britain, apparently) to be specific, around $40. They look nice and beefy so maybe I'll just try them out. The new clamps I got are from a '97 (though I like the old-school silver flat-top best) and includes all lock nuts and bearings in good shape, but I wondered if anyone else has given Betsy hard-core, long-lasting steering action.

Default RE: Better steering stem bearings?

I put tapered bearings on one of my 98 900rr's and I thought they were GREAT!! They were smooth and got rid of any play that might have been there in the triple tree. Two thumbs up!
