That front fork was by far the cruddiest part on the bike although i did get it cleaned up, if you look at the first pictures i posted of it you can really tell how filthy it was.

funny even just taking the old plastics off made a difference..
im pretty sure you said your buying new ones.. i would hold on to the old ones in case you come up with some custom paint job ideas, you'lll have an extra canvas to play with..
looks good!!!
theres a guy on ebay who sells custom stainless brake lines for the front for like 60 bucks, a just bought a set a couple weeks back..

Hamlin: , lol she is a daddys girl she goes were ever i do.

JC: Im working my way toward all the little things ive been ordered parts like crazy lately, yes i ordered the REPSOL fairings for the bike. I think im going to have to sit down and take stock on what all parts i have so i dont order anything twice, my mail man has been getting his workouts bringing packages almost everyday for last 2 weeks lol

My next step now is to remove the swing arm keep doing some cleaning, clean up the wiring a bit(somethings not mounted correctly or at all) then start to polish the frame and misc parts out.

I got the new LED intgrated tail light in today along with the front LED running lights

Nice bike. Very similar to mine. I'm rebuilding my plastics now with final sanding left before prime and paint. Also have my carbs off again for a deep cleaning as I had gas bypass the float(s) when I forgot to turn my fuel off overnight.

Willie: to my knowledge the gas has never been turned off on my bike, it seems to run fine. Maybe i should make a habit off turning it off at least during winter months.I start my bikes and atvs at least once every 2 weeks in the winter let them idle about 20 minutes to make sure the carbs stay clear.

Well i got around to the wiring tonight, i was pleasantly suprised to find nothing really wrong in the front harness just needed to mount stuff back to were it was supposed to go. My 600F3 when i got it was trashed had to pretty much re-wire everything. The tail light was the only bad section on the bike. It was wired in with a Uhaul converter, i "assume" that this was an attempt from the previous owner to intergrate turn signals into a non-intrigrated tail light. Anyway i trashed all of the wiring since i bought the LED intergrated tail light, im puzzled though i did some checking and the uhaul piece costs 29.99 i only paid 38.99 for the LED intrigrated light, why not just pay the extra 9 bucks and do it right. Oh well i learned long ago not to try to understand some peoples methods of madness i just fixed it and moved on. I added the brake alert flasher (just because i think its cool) it flashes quickly 4 times then stays steady when brakes are applied, this is adjustable. My signal lights however will not flash only stay steady i breifly looked for the flasher but was unable to find and gave up for the night, so if you know were the flasher is i would appreciate the info so i dont have to trace wires.

Here are a few pics of the upgraded light and some of the new parts i got in.

The final product on the tail light, brake alert works great, running lights works fine i have good current to the light so none of the flicker like some have.Name: 013-1.jpg

Had to spend some time re-shaping the mirror stay bracket as it was bent in several places either from crash or laying in the previous owners garage one.Name: 014.jpg

Does anyone know if the swingarm on the blades are thick enough to drill and tap for the rear spools? will they support the bikes wieght if so? i know that my F3 was not i had to make tabs and weld the tabs on for the spools but the blades swingarm looks alot stronger than the F3.

Thats all for the nite guys ill get started back on it soon as i can, i really dont think i will be finished with it in time to ride it this season but there is always next!!

the first thing i would do is scrub that fuel pump.. i bought my shut off valve with the vacuum fitting for a 96 and up off of ebay for like 15 buck brand new from china off of ebay and it works like a charm plus everytime i take my tank off now, it doesnt leak everywhere and i dont have to worry about something else going wrong on my 20 year old bike everytime i go for a long ride..
Gas Fuel Valve Petcock for Honda VTR250 1997 2008 HORNET250 1997 2005 CBR900 | eBay
i personally dont use spools, i have the old style rear tire lift or i pick the whole bike up with a wide floor jack.. anyway hopefully someone else will chime in on that..
i have the same tail light except i didnt use the resisters i actually dont mind how fast they flash and i also added led rear blinkers off of the rear foot pegs because in my state those integrated tail lights are not legal here.. anyway added the extra set on the same line and they all flash at the same time and use very little electricity compared to the old bulbs..
that uhaul box is a trip, i doubt someone bought that , they probably just had it hanging around and decided to use it.. who knows .
do you need a wiring diagram??
im sure i have the original manual for your bike..

I tracked down the problem with the turn signals, its the flasher relay is toast. Geez these things are pricey for a relay like 40 new. if anyone has an alternate theory please share.
