well with the new bikes like mines when it blinks you have 1 gallon left over.
but yea i tested out my mpg and i got 100 miles until it started blinking.
That is some really hard riding though so yea..

This last tank i got 45MPG, it's all stock.

When the red bar flashes, you have apx 1 gallon left. actually i think it's .9 or .8 really. anyway, that's when i fill, when the red bar flashes. I know i have more fuel to burn off, but when i see a gas station, what i DON'T see is the sign telling me how far the next one is, so i stop and fill.

There is no reserve on the RR, the last bar simply starts flashing when you're low on fuel. I get 200+ km/tank. I'll let you figure out the conversion.

When the lower bar is blinking, you have one gallon left. (I believe it's in the owners manual).

With my gas milage, im getting 38-40. But I'm always up in the 8,000 RPM range blasting away from traffic at stop lights. I did manage to get 60-70mpg when I was breaking it in. I didn't go over 4,500 rpm and cruised around in 6th gear doing 35mph.

The blinking red means your down to your "reserve" level. There is not a reserve "tank" persay however that is what they define it as in the manual and at this point you have just under a gallon left sooo I usually estimate to get gas within 25-30 miles when i see that light.
BTW this is on an 06 600rr

I get 40 miles to the gallon doing my commute to and from work. About a 1000' difference in elevation between home and work plus some twisty roads. When I'm in multi lane traffic I'm cruising at 7-8k.
