Well, this isn't turning out to be as intuitive as I thought it would be.
I've consulted the downloaded manual, and loosened the four screws and all the pertinent hoses have been taken off.
The bank of carbs just ain't budging though. I'm either going to pull the bike off the stand or rupture a disk in my vertebrae.
Are you guys sure there isn't anything else that needs to be loosened up first? I can get them to wiggle a little bit back and forth, but there's no sign at all that they're ready to pop off of there.

And that's why you shouldn't pull them straight off...
Rock them back and forth, you've got to work them out of the rubber booties.
Try to get one end out first and "peel" them out.
