Default Ram Air on 98 600?

I just got a '98 600 and it came with f4i plastics. However the ram air is not finished and Im wondering how the f3's ram air is setup so i can figure out how to make a new ram air system for the f4i plastics.

Google for the Honda manual. There's quite detailed information in it. I also found this a while back which is how I have connected mine for the track - runs fine at low speed too as far as I can tell.

is the link you posted for instruction to modify the f3s system to make the f4s work? I was thinking of just fiber glassing or modifying the f4's system. So I just need an exploded view of the f3's system or a simple wordpaint schematic of it.

not sure what the link is supposed to be for? But I found a diagram for the ram air on a 97/98 F3. Look under the stickies section in the F3 review thread towards the bottom. I cant post pictures yet.

The manual shows you how the pipes connect for the F3 system - yours is an F3 engine/chassis with F4 plastics? I doubt anyone will have diagrams on how to mod the non-standard bodywork to connect the pipes at the front but the manual will show how the pipes connect to the air valve and airbox.

The link shows how to mod the F3 system for track. You end up with a much simpler system and I have not noticed any problems at low speed. The HRC mods permanently connect the ram air for high speed - which according to the manual is anything above jogging pace! The HRC mods also suggest cutting the nose off the F3 ram air box which has the very useful benefit of allowing the use of a headstock stand - essential if you have removed the centre stand. I ignored the air filter mods as more interested in reliability than ultimate power.

ianp5uk- Gotcha well the two tubes that run from the left and right sides of the front fairing to the airbox I wasnt sure how to mount those or if there was other parts the f3 fairings used. But it looks like the just sat at the front of the bike and sucked in air. So im mounting them in the ram airports on the f4i plastics. Right now I have the plastics off the bike so im not sure if the f4i plastics allow air into the main ram air of the f3.
