Default Neutral light blinks and off

The neutral light blink (on and off) when I put in Neutral, sometime N light went off in Neutral. I play with the clucth lever, it doeshelp to keep the light on, and the shift leverin the leftfoot also helps too. This doesn't bother me at much , but sometime I would rev the engine because I thought I was in first gear when taking off from traffic light. I've been riding when a year with this bike F3 98. Drop me a light sometimes guys, thanks.

could be a bad switch---could be a short somewhere---have you checked the wires coming from the cluster to make sure they are in good shape?

Could also just be a loose bulb, however I recken the filament in the bulb is broken, but makes contact with the movement of the bike (light goes on & off)

I agree with trying the bulb. If it was a short I would suspect it would come on in all gears? Just a thought...

It's not the buld! I'm having the same problem. It has something to do the wirling going into the switch housings on the handle bars. Mine works when it wants to. It's a pain in the *** when you want to start the bike and let it warm up, but you can't because the light is not on and the bike thinks it's in gear. I have to sit on the bike with the kick stand up. eventually I'll take them part and see whats going on.

Take off your tank and just behind the battery is a group of connectors. Take the clear looking connector with 3 pins that has Blue/Red, Light Green, and Green/Blue wires.Take a digital multimeter and set for checking continuity. Set the black probe on exposed metal and the red probe on the postive side of something you know is a complete circuit. You'll know that you have a good ground when you hear the meter chime. Now takethe red probe and push it into the back side of the light green wire on the male connector side. With theengine in any gear position, youshouldNOT have continuity. When the engine is in neutral, you should have continuity (meter chimes). If you determine the switch to be bad, follow the wire. It goes to the left side of the bike just below the engine sprocket and behind the water pump. The neutral switch is tucked in there a ways.
