Im pissed, today I went on the highway was riding for about 20 min and the bike just died, it turned off....Then it did not want to start back up. after like 10 min of trying it started again, so I got on it hit like 100 trying to get home fast and it died again...from there on it never started again until I killed my battery. Then I had to pay a tow truck to tow me back home. What the heck could this be? The starter works, the bike has plenty gas........It seems as if sapark plugs are not igniting. Do these bikes have distributors like cars?? May that went bad? Any help appreciated thanks~

 

have you checked to see if your spark plugs are fouled?

 

No havent got to that yet....But listen to this, I let it rest for a few hours and started right up....then like a dummy I went out to test ride it and went a little far from home (far in case it broke down, which it did lol) so then I had to pay another tow truck to tow it back ....&$@%$@&@$

So when I get back the tow truck guy tells me is nothing blah blah that he had all CBR models etc, and somehow he got it to start again.....but Im thinking that the bike cooled down again and then it started, cos he couldnt tell me what he did to it, he did nothing.....

So what could this be? cOuld iit still be the plugs?

My 95 did the same thing and it was the regulator/rectifier. Bought a new one off of ebay for 101.88 shipping and all

 

Holy smokes 100 buckaroos! Man this bike is coming out expensive! LOL
Yeah I was reading some previous posts I think that could be the problem....is there any way to know for sure that its the problem? Like is there any test in which you know for sure that the rectifier is shot? Thanks!

did you ever check the spark plugs? I'd replace them before going 100$ out when it could be a 5$ thing ya know its worth a try I dumped 300$ into my dirtbike once (I know dirtbike but still) the spark plug looked ok so I put it back in and finally i changed it figurin well maybe and that was it I cryd lol
