So I am getting ready for Spring and had a Carb problem.
So I did a overhaul this past week to completely ready for Spring(except an oil change, waiting for riding weather 1st).Changed the rear tire, sparkplugs, antifreeze and notice I was leaking fuel out of my carbs. So I bought a Carb Gasket kit and only replaced the bowl gaskets. The Carbs were spewing fuel out of the breather hose on #1 and #2 cylinder. $h!t, didn't bother even checking the float needles. Replaced them and clean all the seals. The float needles were pretty corroded for being aluminum. Put it all back together and started it. My wife immediatly noticed the tone being different, a nice and healthy note. She kept revving it and demanded that her Triumph sound like that. Mind you I have Yoshi Race headers and exhaust. So if you have problems with carbs leaking, replace the floats needles and at least the bowl gaskets after a thorough cleaning too. I always go by the rule of thumb I recommend for Spring cleaning new Iridium spark plugs every Spring and a fresh oil change when it gets above 45 degrees. Oil soaks up moisture over the winter. Might as well have a great running beast with some maintenace to be ready for the twisties in Spring.
