Default 93' CBR 600 F2 Speedometer

Well i bought my F2 about 2 weeks ago, all i've put into it so far was a new battery. the speedometer isn't registering the miles though? im not sure if it's because the actual needle that goes with the speed is just laying around in the meter (when i ride all i know is the rpm's my speed doesnt show lol) or a cable might be loose? anyone have any suggestions? please, help.

Disconnect the cable from the back of the cluster and see if it turns when you ride the bike. Then you know if its cable/gear issue or a cluster issue.

The guage cluster. The cable screws into the back of the gauges. The cable in the center of the housing should turn with the front wheel.

When you disconnect it, you can see if the cable is turning. If it turns, then your Speedo is bad. If it doesn'tturn, then the cable is broken or the gear at the axle is bad.

It would also be good if you checked the cable drive at the front hub. the speedo cable goes from front hub to the back of the speedometer.

disconnect the cable fromt he hub, and you'll see the output shaft that the cable engaged to. That should turn as the front wheel turns. If it doesn't turn, then the gear drive in the hub sender needs to be looked at.

Sounds like you may need to fix the speedo or replace it.
