Default my rebuild

hello all i own an 87 cbr 600f wich ive dissassembled because of cracked frame im going to rebuild to just come out the factory state as bits are pretty messy after 26yrs. just a few questions . can i put before and after pics of the progress on here and were do i put them .heres hopeing it all goes well ty for any help on this

Yes, definitely! Put them in this thread. My brother has an ''87 that he is rebuilding. Where are you located?

Default my rebuild

swingarm is done now onto the reason why me bikes in bits the dreaded cracked frame ,thought all do i just weld the crack or weld crack then plate over top?

The swingarm looks good! I had a coworker who was an experienced welder fix mine. He ground down into the crack to make a little valley, and then welded all the way through the crack past both ends where it stopped. You can also drill a small hole at the end of the crack so it doesn't continue, and then weld the whole thing up.

I did what tahoe did, but I had it tig welded for better penetration with a smaller bead. Drilled both sides, ground out the valley and some of the stock weld, and had him go for broke. The result? It looks stock after he was finished(good welder)

going to do what tahoe rider suggests ty,heres anouther question what type of weld would look closest to factory welds cheers tig?

TIG is what was used stock. However an excellent MIG welder can make it look just as good.
