Thispicture attached shows a few of the tools used for the install.
1. Straight Edge
2. Pocket Ruler
3. 1/4" Drive Ratchet With Extension
4. 8mm 1/4" Drive Socket

You can use the 8mm Socket on the 1/4" drive Ratchet with extension to remove the boltsmounting the CCT. I was able to do this without removing the water hose next to it.

This pictureattached is a print screen from McMaster Carr with a similar Pocket Ruler that I used in these instructions. The one highlighted in yellow is similar to the one used.

It is easier to install this if you drain your coolant, remove your radiator, remove your spark plugsand remove your breather as shown.

This picture is after you have removed your head cover, removed your old CCT and bolted in the new Manual CCT.

This Picture shows how to measure chain slop when adjusting the Manual CCT.

I marked where 1/4" and 3/8" are on my pocket ruler.

Once you have the desired measurement, it would be best if you turned the crank a few times to make sure the slop is still with in spec. If your spark plugs are still in, you may have a hard time.

This picture is taken from the right side of the bike.

That's it. A lot easier to go with an OEM CCT.

While you have all of this apart, you may as well check your Valve Clearance.

Enjoy.

so is it normal to install a brand new oem and have it clatter for a little while? I jsut installed and once tha bike was all back together it seemed noisier! bit of a clack clack clack, but if I pour mystery oil down the carbs it quiets right down! are the carbs lean or something and the oil richens it, or is it a problem with the cct? thanks!
