any tricks on how to get those flathead screws out of the caliper that slide through the brake pads? i got one on each caliper loose the other 2 are starting to strip out. i dont care if i wreck them i just got 2 calipers in the mail for spares but im wondering if ill even be able to get those ones off!!!!!

 

yea they are on the front calipers and probably are covers to the slides. i thought they screwed out but it didnt make sense as to why the rear only had slides and the front screwed out lol. so will it do any harm if i drill them out or something or do i need the covers there for a reason

 

so on my 87 cane on the front calipers there are flat headed screws or covers. so your saying that if i somehow get them out there is still an allen head screw or something?

 

well im kinda pissed lol. i got 3 of the 4 loosened up on my new (used) set of calipers. i cant get the other one off thats all thats holding me up from changing them!!!! i guess ill just have to bring it to the bike shop in the spring and see what they can do. yea they are just the little caps covering the allen head screws. i think when they come off im accidentaly losing them lol
