Default 1997 blackbird 1000xx

I just bought a 97 1000xx super for 400 decent condition motor seems to run strong. although my guess would be that my stator is shot. right above where the stator is there is a wire that that got fried and split from its little connector. i drove 1 mile out of shop were i bought it and lost all power. even with jumper cables on battery no power ran threw the bike. if anybody has some advice or could offer help would be great thankls

Yes I checked the main fuses and also I know the battery was replaced recently. when daylight comes ill have to take a picture of the wire to see if maybe when it burned up it could have caused more damage

Your r/r may have gone, check the r/r plug and wires for burns or melting.

Okay so here is the picture of that wire that is all jacked up. wires got all hot an burnt it in half I checked all wires around that one and luckily they all look just fine.

I was wondering if this is the wire the goes to the stator. And even if it isn't i need to fix that. So my other question is how cann I jimmy rigg it as good as possible just to see if that is my problem.
thanks

That looks like the lead from the stator to the reg/rectifier.

Follow the lead back to the reg/rectifier and see if the ends of the wires are all yellow in colour.

If it is your quick fix is to just solder the ends of the wires together without the plug ( quite commonly done for reliability )

Then you will have a solid set of three yellow wires going between the stator and the reg/rectifier.
