Headlights Stopped on 05 CBR1000rr
Hey all,
Been a while since ive visited here. Anyways.... My headlights stopped working on my bike tonight, both Low and High Beams. Checked the fuse, its fine. Checked the wires in the High/low switch...fine also. Checked for bad connection in the starter switch, its fine too. also checked the headlight relay box, seems to be fine too. I have power to everything as checked with a meter....I get the blue light for high beams on the dash when switched on, but still no lights. Any one have another suggestion?
Thanks,
Sam

Do you have stock bulbs?
Its unlikely, but possible you could have burned them both out. Have checked the bulb themselves?
Have you added any recent electrical components?
I would double check the starter switch to make sure its not cutting power to the headlights.
You might want to also check the sub harness to make sure it didn't work its way loose. Unplug it and plug it back in so you know its seated correctly.

I found the problem, it took a while!
it was in the ground box up front in the Sub-Harness. Its a Yellow box in the wiring harness where all the grounds for the turn signals, Headlights, and other parts come out from the main wiring connection. Its Taped up from the FACTORY, but one of the main ground wires leading into the Yellow box was burnt inside! We are guessing that it was from moisture over the yrs of washing the bike.
Thanks,
Sam
