I especially like the titanium fuel tank.

Meh, a titanium tank is cool, but it really looks like they made new bodywork and tuned the bike up a bit... Imagine having a tip over, that tank is going to suck to have to replace... Wonder why they didn't go with an aluminum tank..
I have to be honest, I was hoping for a bigger change. Honda is increasingly looking more bland...

If it's anything like mine (and it ain't) what you see is just a tank cover. I suspect that with this as well.
The SP is priced a bit higher than the base bike. There's also an SP2 strictly to meet race homologation- fuggetabout getting one; only making 500 and I think Ten Kate is first in line.

Bottom line, I'm a Honda man and I want one. But I'll probably never buy a brand new bike again, unless I hit the lottery. I bet they make the SP2 unaffordable for normal people. Kind of like they did for the RC30, it was 15k while everything else was 7k ish. Then the RC45 at 25 or 27k I think. Just like Yamaha did with the OWO1 and R7. Then Honda decided to make some money on the RC name and make the RC51. Which was not a real RC, just a glorified Superhawk. I'm rattleing now. Later.

First day at track
I was going to wait after 2-3 track days to sell the 05 RC51 just to be sure the new SP was better. It took about 2 laps to prove that it is so much better. With only 100 miles on it, I still have some breaking in to do, but I can first-handedly say, it is an awesome bike. The only thing that needs replacing is the windscreen. Needs to be taller for me, cuz at 100+ mph, there is much wind buffering on my helmet that I can't duck under.
