Default Where does this go?

So one of the only spare parts I git with my "new" Hurricane was this foam strip. It does not appear that its on the bike now and it doesn't go into much depth in the shop manual. I see it on the micro-fiche but again it only gives me an idea. Could someone shed some light?

Thanks

Interesting one............

Possibly at the bottom/below the screen??

Had a quick search but all parts sites/microfiches are, as you say, not shedding much light.

I'll look at the '87 later today and see if I can spot it.

Cheers, SB

in under the cowling contacting the top of the non visible speedo casings if I remember
correctly.basically a weather strip

to be more specific (having looked at the 87 cowl for sale on ebay) it runs across the
cowl just above the headlight housing

I've been all over Ebay and can't find that picture of the 87 cowl. Can you provide a link?

Thanks

He's right, (I can't remember the last time he was wrong); peering carefully through my sun-crazed and yellowed 87 screen (from the outside), I can see it just below the bottom of the screen.

Along with some dead flies, a spider and, what appears to be some kind of cap from a bottle of beer.
