MK 1 & Mk 2 carbs are different from MK 3 and distinct from themselves too
Coolant System and head fittings for coolant are different on the MK1
Each gen has different brakes
Rims are narrower on the MK1
Speedo is driven from front wheel on MK 1
Plastics and Gauges are distinct for each generation
R/R is diff for Mark 1 and some electrics & controls too
seats for Mk2 & 3 are same , MK 1 is diff
Petcock for Mk2 & 3 are same , Mk 1 is diff not vacuum actuated but a manual petcock
Headlight for MK1 not same as 2 & 3
Rear shock is different for mK1 - shorter and slightly wider diff construction
but you can interchange
Forks are diff - anti dive on the Mk1 - same fork diameter tho - triple is diff too
Hell there's more but this is the readily available stuff that comes to mind right now
Gear shift linkage is diff on MK1
Fuel tank for all three are different
Carb jetting is same imo as I run MK2 carbs on a MK1 bike - and it runs better than
the MK1 carbs it came with - no alterations
MK 3 carbs are a straight bank - mk2 and 1 are a "V" shaped bank so carbs intakes
and ariboxes etc for a Mk1 or 2 will NOT work on a MK3 Gen Bike unless you change
airboxes and intake rubbers.
Like wise a MK3 carbs will not retrofit to a MK1 , 2 unless you make the appropriate
changes as described above
imo MK2 carbs were the best breathing most responsive of the three diff designs
Almost thinking of modding my MK3 to run with MK2 carbs I'm that convinced
of it

Hey you guys forgot the pulse generator and the fact that the '94 is by far the best looking.
All years were made lean due to emissions. That would include all manufactures.
There are also Cali models w/cali emissions and some Euro models had necked down carb boots to reduce HP.

thanx TBT. ditto on the best looking. anyone familiar w/US Cart open wheel racing would agree it has Penske Racing colors minus the Marlboro sponsor decals. thats what first caught my attention when i saw the first 1 on the street. im not tryin to start any disagreements, cause just like women, its all in the eyes of the beholder, and shes my bitch!

mjp, a couple of things I would suggest to get her to purr is,
(1) K&N air filter with Jet kit --> LINK you don't need to supply an e-mail address, just click on [see results] lower left of that screen.
(2) Stick coils --> LINK#1 How to LINK#2
Those two mods above can be done for under $100 USD and will make a difference. Its the best way to get your carbs working for you. Even if other year carbs had the slightest gain, you still would need to rejet to make up for the ethanol in the gas.
The stick coils produce a hotter spark to light off the new mixture. I am extremely glad I did them and have no other plans for further mods. I do however have a TB slip-on and jetted to it.

TB slip-on with factory jets.
the fsm doesnt spec what size the jets are. Yes it does on page 1-6 bottom, 11 pages in, the general specs area, Fuel system
do you know what the factory main and slow jet sizes are for the 94? 122 mains and slows are either 40 or 42 depending on Altitude and location.
are they mikuni ? No they are Keihin
