Exclamation Updating appearance of 1993CBR1000F

Hello,

Love this board!
Just recently picked up a 1993 CBR 1000F in Mint and I mean mint condition. Will post pics soon.

I know there seem to be those here that like leaving a bike in its natural form however use to build mustangs and am now turning to bikes. I love to have things that are unique!

First and foremost is the rear of the bike. I love the design of the newer bikes that have a greater height in the rear showing more meat on the tire and a rounder rear seat pannel? Do they make bolt on replacements or will this have to be done custom at a shop?

Also the seat although comfortable for 2 riders just looks dated. Hoping maybe there is an RR seat that will solve appearance of rear and seat in one shot?

And lastly I am 6'1 so typically ride with feet on the passenger foot pegs. Do they make modification kits for longer legged riders?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!!

You can fit a newer rear end, but have to replace the rear subframe.
To me it just looks odd.
Your a$$ will suffer, so will your passenger's if you change the seat.
No modifications for your feet that I know of- I'm 6'0" and have no problem with std position ?
I guess you could fit something......if you wanted to.?

If you don't like the way they look, why didn't you buy something that looks a bit more "modern" ?

I moved your post here as it'll get more responses.

Yep, for a tail you'd have to switch subframes and most likely do some fab work to make it fit right.
I'm about 6'2" and I like the position of these bikes and don't have a problem with the peg height. I've seen others fit buell pegs and such, but clearance will most likely suffer.

Wow I am 6'3" I must have very short legs cause I fit just fine on mine. Thinking

1993 CBR 1000F in Mint and I mean mint condition
--- if everyone here in the states takes there mint bike and modifies the crap out of it. Then may, just maybe the price of our bike will sky rocket to the prices like the one across the pond.

If you want a custom seat, try contacing Corbin Seats. They can make what ever you want but it will cost you.
I'm 6' 1" and for a sport bike the CBR100F is pretty roomy. There is nothing out there that is as comfy and move me as fast as I want. I don't need a 180mph crotch rocket that hurts my knees and back after 15 minutes.

Yep, have to agree with the others , i`m 6`2" and i`ve never had an issue with comfort , and as for the looks it does sound like you need a more modern bike. I`m all for changes that may improve ( or wreck) the looks ie.. streetfighters etc but if your wrecking a mint bike just to make it more "modern" it seems a bit pointless.....imo anyway welcome to the site

You can take the Buell pegs and grind them to fit. Gives about a 1" drop from the stock position
