Default unidentifed flying object ....... okay ....part

So under my airbox there was this "clip" jammed right under it between the
frame and the box !....... dunno what the hell it is or where it came from

Looks like a "bill holder" (ya know paper money clip) ! only it has a tab on it
that says "UP"

WTF is it ? ...... anyone know ??

I'll get a pic posted tomorrow !

It could be to hold your airfilter element in place - should go inside the airbox, methinks ?

NOW ........ that makes sense because as I was moving every thing about to get the
shock changed ...... I got a bit rough with the air box ....... Because I needed to
see how the top of the shock was attached ........ ( one end had a welded nut).

Thanks Pete ........

Secures filter in place inside the air box. It slips under the bottom edge.

+1

The far side is held in place buy the box part that goes inside the filter.
The near side will drop so you need to slip that doohickey under the filter to lift it to alien the cover.

Da very one Jim....... ......this explains why the filter "lip" was a bit out of shape

Funny y'd think this thing would end up rattling around in the box or worse end up
in an intake !........ but guess not
