Default Sylvania Silverstar headlights, very short life

Any of u that have used them, did u get more than a year out of them, way too short a life. I have them in cars and not a real problem. Please if u have used them give me some feedback, I am going to contact Sylvania soon.

Well I found when the R/R was getting ready to go south the headlights would start
burning out at a quicker than normal rate !

Check your R/R and see if it's getting mad hot ! and your battery water level while
you are at it.

Ya they have a very short life. If you look at the guide chart thingy on the Sylvania site it even points out that they don't last as long. You didn't get a bad one...they just don't last.

I'd take a look at the Philips Xtreme Power +80. I heard the silverstars don't last long and glare can be bad in the rain because of the whiteness (blue filter), so I tried these instead. I've had them for a while now with no issues and they were cheaper than the sylvanias. You have to order them from overseas, though (UK-german made). They took 10days to get to me and cost $33/set shipped.
They're a noticeable improvement over stock bulbs, but still 55w. If you're interested, there is a description HERE and you can ORDER HERE.
Just an idea.

Went with the Osram Nightbreaker myself , similar to Trouts Philips Xtremes

maybe not as bright but last great

Thanks guys, mine lasted 14 months and less than 4K miles, that's BS, haven't heard back from Sylvania, I'll let you know what they say, I have them in my Dodge truck 78K and almost 5 years. I will ck the R/R, and battery water, has been a little while.

I've had them die inside of a thousand and last more than 7-8k. For the coin you give for them I'd like to see better endurance but sure like the bright light they kick out.
