Stuck in limbo
I got my bike back in the middle of June. The previous owner had lost the title and said he was going to get a replacement. Now it's the middle of July still no title,I called the department of motor viechles and they said only three to five business days to receive a replacement. Now he is M.I.A. I sent alot of time and money and I don't know what my options are If anybody has any ideas Im open. Thanks.

I've heard that story before. Hopefully (don't hold your breath) he'll show up, but if not you have some (long shot) options:
- In some states (Arizona comes to mind) there are services that offer to help you "track down" bike titles. By "track down" they might mean actually legally helping you find a missing title for a fee ($50-100 US). Sometimes they might mean "help you find a title" <wink wink nudge nudge> as in, their state doesn't keep records so they will register the bike in their state under a new title for you and you transfer the title to your state when you register it. New Hampshire used to be another state that had services like this. Sketchy? Yep. Will it work? I've heard of it working in the past.
I've seen 1000f titles, frames with supposed clean titles, etc come up for bid on ebay on occasion, but they usually don't last long.
If you're in the US, every state is different.
Good luck!
