Default Sprockets and chain

well, my bike (96 cbr1000f) has been sleeping for the winter and i just got her out today to do a pre season tune up. i am desperately in need of a chain/sprockets. looking for maybe a little different gearing, for more low end power. how does that affect my speedo?

any recommendation on brands?

thanks

www.sprocketcenter.com

Has the best prices I've found on D&D and RK chain/sprocket sets. On the website is a drop down menu that gives you options for gearing change-and yes it will affect your speedometer (mine's 5 mph off with stock gearing so----)

Down 1 tooth on the front, I was 11% off on the speedo.
With stock gearing I'm 7% off. That was a shocker to me.

I bought my bike with the 1 tooth down set up, but went to stock. Didnt seem like a huge difference to me, but I like stock better due to riding to work on the highway.

Fuel economy will suffer,I get 200klm then hit reserve. The bike also seems to run out of gears on the highway. I have also heard vibrations can increase...leave it stock in my opinion, Honda paid some smart people a lot of money to get the gearing right!

-1 front , +2 rear ='s

Speedo goes outta whack

D2Moto is selling some good 530 oring volar chain these days cheap $60

JT Sprockets on Ebay front and rear same cheap prices front and rear about $80

Then of course as rightly mentioned SprocketCenter does more expensive kits
for more brand name components

^ 114---The new chain may come in the package with 120 so you need to reduce it to 114.

114 is the stock legnth. Some companies sell it in either 114 or 120 legnth.
You will still need a chain tool to connect the master link unless you use a clip style master link.
