Default Speed Bleeder valves

Guys, I REALLY need to change the brake and clutch fluid this spring. I am going to buy speed bleeders. I know the size is 8mmx1.25. But do i get the standard size or the long ones. I was hoping to get them before I take the old ones out. Ya, I'm lazy like that.

Speed Bleeders are great. Get the standard size ones. If you get the long ones you risk tightening down too much and stripping the threads, especially on your clutch slave.

Very nice little gif, steve! You always know how they work, but rarely do you get to see a cutaway of one actually working...

Ya know, about 3 or 4 yrs ago I was cleaning out my work truck and found an entire mityvac kit under the seat that the previous guy had bought for suction filtering water samples. I thought "that would be perfect for a brake bleed" so I put it somewhere I wouldn't lose it. For the life of me, I can't find the dam thing anywhere. lol..
It woulda worked slick on my LBS.

Like Hawk, I'd never heard of these before. I'm not sure I can really see any advantage except that you don't have to keep retightening them between pumps. Hmmm, I guess that's an advantage.
Damn, I've been working too bloody hard lately. I'm surprising even myself today with just how stupid I can be.
Ok, forget I even posted this.

BTW Trout, how would you use a Mityvac to bleed your brakes?
Why do I feel I"m about to upstage my first stupid comment?

Let me have it then!

Sucks brake fluid through the system to remove any air, our Enry. You have to make sure you keep the reservoirs full while doing it or you end up with brakes full of air...
