Default Slowly fixin some free 1000s

I got 2 free 1000fs the other day one 87 one 88 and Im gonna be getting one going for now. Don't have much cash for the project so its gonna be kind of when I can ill do it type of thing. There is a lot I can do without spending money I guess tho. So heres some pics. the red tank one is the 88 and (depending on what I find out from the dmv) is the one I will be fixing up.

The 87 and 88 are the same model. The parts are interchangeable, Where are you from?

EXCELLENT !
I have quite a few spares for the 87/88 as do many others here - problem will be postal costs.....
Make a list of what you need and let's see what we can come up with to help you.
Welcome !

So I need some plug wires and I found some on ebay but none in good condition and it seems the only ones they sell over at bikebandit.com are universal. Im gonna check those other links but I found these. does anyone know if they will work? Or what I need to do for them to work? NGK Racing Wires - BikeBandit.com

If you have a good spare complete exhaust on one of the bikes then sell it on ebay - they fetch a fair bit of cash.

Actually, now I look more closely they both seem to have the original black chrome 4 into 2.

Thanks for everyones warm welcomes. Yes ill actually have 2 complete exhausts because my brother is pretty good with a tig welder (best motorcycle frame producer in cali actually) ill be making my own 4 into 1. I got a chance to check them out alil more today and found I need a cdi box. None of you guys happen to have one of those layin around do you? A battery and battery box (if anyone knows a good replacement battery for a fair price) and a coolant over flow tank. Im goin to be stealing sull625's idea from his street fighter hurricane https://cbrforum.com/forum/street-fi...r-600f-138003/ I was really hoping someone could offer any ideas on maybe keeping the gauges from the original bike without the fairings or if anyone knows a good mod for a differnt cluster. The tac runs off the cdi so thats gonna make it difficult to adapt any other cluster. Ill figure out whats up with the dmv fees tomorrow then go from there on what one ill be gettin together and do what I can until I can get the money for the cdi or trade a few parts to someone for one. Thanks again for everyones warm welcome. I think you guys are going to make this much easier on me and thanks to some other posts ive read on here, keep me alive.
