I've actually got a mark 2 Hawk so the 42 would be the correct sprocket.

My new rear sprocket is a 44T. I though I was going up two teeth from stock but when I took the old one off it was marked 46T. (If I get too stir crazy from no riding I"ll count them)So it looks like I went down two teeth from an aftermarket sprocket.

One question, what is the standard size, is it as Sprok said, 17/42?

I will go back to that if it is.
know this is an old thread, but yes a 17 tooth front sproket and a 42 tooth rear sproket are the factory tooth counts. For what its worth, when I took possesion of my 93 it had a 46 tooth rear sprocket and I replaced it with a 44 when I replaced the chain.
I can't tell a difference.
