Have a 1991 sc24 and need a another rear caliper as mine has knackered pistons and a snapped off bleed nipple. Anyone know of later model or different model that will fit thanks

I believe the mark3 rear will fit but will require (it's) extra DCBS port to be plugged

TimBucTwo is you best bet to verify with that ? ---- pm him

Not sure if this is much help ... but, there's a place here in the UK that I can recommend, who can re-furb your old one .... It'll come back as good as new.....

I could verify that if I took a ride to Sprock's place. He's has all three generations.

I'm not sure but I thought mk1 and mk2 were un-linked but had different calipers. The mk3 is almost like the mk2 but with linked calipers. If they match the install brackets, yes, the pipe between the outer pistons would have to be married for them to work the best.

I guess the spacers would need to be measured as I am not familiar with them either.

MK1 has different attach bar to stabilize the caliper

MK 2 and three same brake caliper slider stabilizer setup

A MK 3 should work by just plugging / putting a bolt in the
extra DCBS port ...... or just rebuild or get another MK2 rear
caliper

Hey:

The rear rotor on mk 1 and mk 2 are the same size, 276mm the only bike I can think of that had used that size rotor with modern single puck CBR1KRR calipers is the VT1100 Shadow. You would have to modify or adapt the mount to work (to mount /weld slide for swingarm attachment) and may need spacers to not bind, but would be the correct size and they can be found at ok prices for example:

99 Honda Shadow VT1100 VT 1100 Rear Brake Caliper & Mount 43F | eBay

Also some older VFRs use the same rear caliper if you can find a nicer one. Good Luck on your search.

Also Mk2 and Mk3 will not interchange unless you change to the mk3 rotor as it is smaller 256mm, but would work if this was changed and was modded to use the dual line caliper. mk1 and mk2 should use a similar caliper just have different mounting brackets and caliper piston sizes older being larger as this is when Honda still wanted extra strong rear overbraking something they have went away from in later modern years. Hence the smaller rotors and less aggressive rear calipers since sporting bikes have gotten smaller and lighter too.
