Odd cooling fan behavior
Hi guys,
Not had a chance to look at this properly yet but was wondering anyone had any ideas?
My fan will come on and go off a couple of times - and then just not come on! which of course gets things a little HOT
Any thoughts?
I am off to a wedding tomorrow so wont get a chance for an in depth look til the weekend.
Fortunately being in the UK - it will be winter by Tuesday !

If it was me Harry I'd check all the connections, make sure they're clean and tight, a bad connection could be getting hot and expanding breaking the connection.
As it works sometimes, I'd think the motor and the fuse are OK, though may be an idea to check the thremo-swich connections as well.

Harry, as Sprock said, try earthing the thermo switch wire (located at bottom left of the radiator as you sit on the bike) ... the fan should come on. If that's working ok and you suspect that it's overheating because the fan isn't switching on early enough, you should replace the thermo switch in the radiator.
