I'll post up about it once I go outside and check.

Thanks for bringing that up.
The Previous owner may have routed them like this when he uninstalled the heated grips (even though he left all the wiring around).
I found the cables run like this, but ziptied to the forks.
That probably explains the "slack".
I'm still in the working on the throttle tube and controls, so Ill move the cables to the inside and see what happens.
Edit:
I tried running them around the inside of the forks, like they should. They won't reach with these bars.
So I put them back the way they were and played around with them. If the elbows coming from the control are pointed in the right position, and the cables are ziptied to the fork, then they don't bind.
I would much prefer having proper length cables, but I'll leave that for who ever buys it from me.

Well I am going to give in and buy some new throttle cables.
It's just too jinky having them ran the wrong way.
I'm uploading a short vid of it running, cold. (45-50f in garage)
Sounds good. Lots better than previous.
I keep finding little things to tweak, missing screws, things out of alignment.
I raised the triple up, but now I need to lower it a smidge. I need to turn the handles out more, but they hit on the ridge of the top yoke.
If I turn full left or right the bars hit the gas tank.
Anyways, here is how it sounds right now.

Compared with before.

Sounds great! I didn't see any mention of the stick coil mod. If you really want to smooth it out, that mod will take any lumps out, give you better cold starts and pull harder down low. I personally think its the best upgrade for an aging bike running modern fuel.
All in all, she's looking great. Nice job!

I'm waiting to install them until I'm sure no other issues will pop up and that I've put everything back together right.

Went ahead and did the stick coil mod since I have nothing else to do until new throttle cables come in.

I had cranked on it a bit before and had it backfire. Turns out I had it wired in reverse...hehe.
It did start right up with the choke on. No hesitation. It was late at night and I didn't play around with it much, so as not to **** the neighbors off.
