need new frame with title
hello all, im new to this forum but im in desperate need of help.
ive owned a 96 CBR1000F hurricane for about a year now and this bike is absolutely amazing. the handling and the power just fits me and puts a smile on my face every time.
with that being said i recently stripped it down and found several stress cracks in the frame, probably from my trips to the drag strip.
hoping somebody can help me out, I NEED A NEW FRAME WITH TITLE, i ride this bike almost daily and have to have title with frame so i can register it. any CBR1000F frame from 93-96 will work. I have much time and money into powerplant and cannot let it go, this is just irreplaceable to me. somebodyh please help me

Weld the cracks as Demon suggests, but only as a temp measure. These bikes aren't good on the drag strip - the weight is too neutral, ie there' quite a lot on the front and if you can wheelie it the thump as she comes down will do the frame no good at all...........
Frames aren't that difficult to find. Maybe e Bay for a start.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE ?? It's not much good finding you a frame in California if you live in New York....................

im located a couple hours south of chicago illinois. im okay paying some shipping cost but i dont have the money to buy a whole new frame from factory let alone a complete bike. hoping somebody knows where there is a bike with a blown engine or something along those lines that i can pick up pretty cheap. driving a little ways for it would be okay but seems like everywhere i look these bikes are well taken care of and nobodys wants to part them out.
welding it is an option but but not something i would want to ride on permanently.
thank you

OK, lets be really honest here; is it really that hard to change a frame number to match your original???
I see a couple of pop rivets and a small amount of work with a fizz welder, a grinder and a set of die stamps.
The average vehicle inspector will never notice the slight difference in text style or height from the original factory stamp.
Not that I would ever suggest this method for cleansing stolen bikes, just an easier method for legitimizing a totally clean up frame swap.

But as far as stamped numbers into the yoke? bit of fizz weld, grind back, clean and restamp.
If you have all the appropriate paperwork, it all comes together.
The important thing here is having the clean paperwork to make it all work.
I am not trying to make an examplar of how to steal a bike here Shadow; just an observation of how to get round the sometimes random rules.
I could get caught by the same rules if I ever happen to replace my engine, suddenly all the numbers don't match up.
That doesn't make me a criminal, just someone that bought a spare engine from a wrecker.
