That is brilliant. I'd move my bed in and be completely at home Give Mrs SB visiting rights (properly scheduled) between rebuilds.

Just think, time, money and a much bigger shed and mine could look like that.

Guess my problem is I am precisely the dictionary's description of sloppy:

If only I'd get the table built which top already leans to the wall, along with a few shelves I wouldn't have to do the robot dance maneuver every time I wish to walk across the garage.

It's not the space, it's how efficiently you utilise it...

Finished the fork service and painted the lowers. Re-fitted to the bike - did suspension and wheel alignment.

Now the "beauty" part ...... Start dressing the bike.

Too late to finish today .... but, after 12 weeks out of action, should be on the road this week-end!!!

This is my vicarious bike building pleasure at the moment. It's been over 2 months since I threw a leg over a bike and I'm definitely feeling the deficit!

It is looking very good indeed. Hope the dressing part all goes smoothly for you.

Fantastic job. You have inspired me to go a lot farther than intended with repairs on mine. And given ideas for how to repair. Were you able to color match or did you just repaint the entire fairing?

The Q-Bond, which appears to be the same as the product you recommended was used to built a new mounting tab for my fairing and has held for a couple years. I also used it to rebuild mountings for the headlight on my car after meeting a deer on the highway. Good stuff.

 

On advice from fellow club member who has done this many times .... color match is the only way to go (unless you are painting the whole bike) as the paints will have faded since new - especially the "pearl effect" types.

 

Just to fetch my helmet off the shelf I have to do some serious maneuvers that would put Michael Jackson's moon walk to shame.

I can't imagine lifting a bike to store on a shelf while waiting for a part.

I sure would make things sooooooo much easier doing a rebuild when not in cramped quarters and loosing parts in piles.

Like you, I don't have space to do a rebuild in my garage.
I'm very lucky to be able to utilize my friend's garage/workshop though when I do have a major job.

Reality is that this is where the body panels ( and plastic trays for screws / parts) were kept for a 4 weeks of the 12 week rebuild time.
On the dinning room table!
I couldn't bare to have them outside after being painted.
My wife nearly killed me!
