Default My 1991 CBR1000f

Well I've said G'Day and was asked to show my bike. Bought a few days ago, a 1991.

A few nick and cuts on the old girl - and the minor problem of the alternator damper (ordered from PowersportsPlus for $86.74 delivered to Australia!). The short ride I had on her the other day shows she is rock solid and pulls like a 12 year old schoolboy. (Hmmm might have mixed my metaphors and gender there).

Anyway, my new toy and I'll replace the damper and touch up all the nicks and scrapes and enjoy her.

Cheers, SB

Hi Craig - Welcome to the forum. - Sure you'll enjoy the new toy - looks great!
Maybe you can show us the Adelaide Hills ride if ever we're in that part of SA.

Keep safe...

Thanks for the welcome - and more than happy to show the beautiful Adelaide Hills to anyone NT - anytime. In fact if any member is passing, happy to ride/chat. I'm a sad motorcycling b*&#ard from way, way back.

Is there a contacts page that we can post details like addresses and mobile phone numbers?

Cheers,

Reading that thread I wouldn't think the word "easily" springs to mind.

Patience, care and attention are probably more likely to be the required attributes.

But, as always down here amongst the gnarly old Hurricane owners, we will give you all the support and advice that you need. Feel free to ask anything you need to know, good pics help too.

And just as an aside; on a day to day basis, exactly what does an Entomologist do?.

Entomology is the study of insects. I was a consultant field entomologist for many years working with citrus and vine growers using "Integrated Pest Management" to contol bad bugs in the orchards with good bugs (biocontrol) and minimal targetted chemical spraying.

Now work in the Biosecurity field.

So I can only presume it was a little lapse in concentration on your part that has caused the big drama over here about the discovery of a Queensland Fruit Fly in Auckland?

Nice bike mate, but mind on the job OK?

Great looking bike !
Don't let the damper worry you - if I did it anyone can - just takes a bit of patience and careful leverage. Oh and a ratchet 14mm ring spanner to get the starter out unless you want to sit for 5 hours turning a bolt one flat at a time.....
If you follow the tutorial to the letter you'll be fine !
