20000?? ****, you could have had mine for 18000 Sorry mate. Nice bike, mines got the same pipe but I modified the can a bit. Went a slightly smaller diameter baffle tube to get a bit more wadding in there and keep more bottom end power. the other thing I did to mine was de-link the brakes! I got the ***** not having control over when the front brake came on.

Fast sweeping curves are this bikes world! They're rock steady and, when you've sorted your forks out (good springs and fresh oil to the right height) you'll have a ball. They are quite a heavy beast with the motor quite forward so I wouldn't wheelie mine..I'm not saying it's not possible, just that unless you're planning to let the front down gently you'll blow the fork seals .

The newer sports bikes are faster, turn in quicker, stop sooner but....they'll render you a cripple after a couple of hours in the saddle. Each to their own but I don't want my heels up my ****, my hands lower than my feet or my face down on the clocks. There's a world of info on this site and a good (a couple of strange ones though bunch of people too. While you're waiting to hear from the others, check out the 'search' button for some good info. There are manuals too.

See you later mate. BTW where abouts are you..was that 20000 pounds are dollars?..either way you could still have had mine for 18000.

Drag bike? Been thinking about taking mine to our local 1/8 mile strip for a blast..not sure yet.

Pretty sharp looking bike, man.

Looks like Dave gave you some good info. $2k doesn't seem like a bad price at all. How many miles are on it?

As far as 1/4 mile times.... I think the specs have it listed at high 10's/low 11's.

i just bought the same exact bike, minus that mine had been dumped, repaired, and then sat for a long time, for $1800 locally. hopefully our '94s treat us well. i was also looking to take mine out this summer at some point and see what kind of numbers i can pull off at the track, slipping clutch and all.

1 Drag bike NO WAY - too heavy
2 Wheelies - NO - spins the back tyre up nicely though

The 1000F is a high speed TOURER. It doesn't pretend to be an RR or anything else.
Heavy, strong loveable machines that will run all day at 130MPH.
Lousy turning circle and heavy at 550LBS.

Judging from your questions, you're a younger rider ? I'd guess early 20's maybe ?
In a nutshell, if you want to do wheelies and use it as a drag bike - I think you may have bought the wrong bike...............
You'll go through plenty of chains and sprockets and gearboxes, not to mention clutches if drag bikes are your thing. They are surely strong enough, but just too heavy off the line, and the brakes are OK but not brilliant.

I have to agree with Shadow. You may have the wrong bike. The 1000F is more of an ICBM - Inter-Continental- Ballistic-Motorcycle. It's designed to be pointed at the other side of the continent and ridden as fast as the lawmen will allow. It's a highspeed tourer. I've done over 800 miles in a day and partied that night.

these bikes do have some awesome high speed stability, but you can get the best of both worlds with some better clutch packs, some teeth adjustments, and a beefy chain. i wanted to be able to ride mine on the daily as well as do some inadvisable riding at the track if need be so i bumped up the rear two teeth. ill do the clutch this winter since im slipping at WOT in high rpms right now. the new chain is in the mail.

after some time im gonna put a few holes in the fairings and replace those holes with a turbo. but until then i'll be running no air box, a 4-2-1 V&H system, and whatever jet size i need to get the sucker running in the right AFR range (wideband o2 sensor/gauge is also in the mail).
