leaking front fork year fl
hi all
been off the forum for a long time
was running the old girl and got a scratch on the left fork due to grit
started to leak
got a 2nd hand tube with no scratches, but worn smooth
for 30 quid
put it in and with new honda seals
still leaking!!
what to do?
to stop the grit i bought 2 gaiters from bonneville as they will fit the slider / tube
greetings paul

Hi Paul, I tried the second hand rout when I needed mine doing years ago, didn't work for me either Cost me two sets of genuine Honda fork seals, second hand fork tubes plus fork oil. All money pi55ed down the drain.
I was eventually lucky enough to find a brand new pair on e-bay for half the retail price, fitted them, once again with new seals and oil. Worked perfectly and no leaks.
Factor in the time and effort wasted as well and I have truly learnt 2 lessons.
1. Buy cheap, buy twice.
2. If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing properly.
My advice would be to bite the bullet and buy a new one, last time I looked they were £90 each, but you know it'll get the job done.
