leaking forks
recently i got a nasty scratch on the stanchion and it leaks
a little
after the fact and too late i fitted rubber gaiters from a new era bonneville(fit perfect )
gets a little difficult to buy stanchions for the fl at a reasonable price
so found a company in uk to re- finish the stanchion near sandbach for about gbp 70
will get is done in 10 days and report

Same issue just happened on my '91. I ordered new fork seals and picked up some 10wt Bell Ray fork oil from a local motorcycle parts shop. I was able to stone down several nicks on the stanchion tubes that probably caused the seal failure. Hit them with some 800 grit emery cloth and they polished up nicely. No more fork oil on my wheel after rides! I'm looking to order the later model fork guards that are plastic and fit on the top of the fork leg. They are black and seem to stick up about 2" to protect the fork tube from road debris. Anyone know what models had those stock?

the fork tubes are at the dynasurf company
they do nothing but cylinder refurbs
also picked up a 2nd hand lh exhaust from d+k( worlds biggest bike breaker ) ,tatty looking but a steal at 30 gbp
sandblasted it and will weld over some pinholes in the infeed, then will be good as new
just looking foe some silver high temp paint
