Hey:
Don't know where you are located , but here in the NC USA a local locksmith can get the numbers from the lock and cut the key with out any problems. Some like your DL and the VIN and year info to keep you legit, but if you take in the tankcap or rear lock or ignition they can probably make it while you wait, at least they can here. The numbers are located inside the locks.

thanx Dub! my Yamaha has the code stamped on the key and can be cut with no problem. i was ordering them on a web site www.keys4urride.com if u give them the code, they'll cut it for $6 + $5 for the blank. i dont know if thats a great deal or not but i think its reasonable plus shipping.
so the code has to be somewhere. i got the bike from the original owner and have the original key!

Thats about right for cost. Original Honda blanks go for a few dollars more sometimes, depends where you get them. Also the inside back of the ignition switch has the key code info on it, but can be a pain some times to remove without the correct t45 or t50 tool. If it has the original rear seat lock on it, they have the info as well, plus it is plenty easy to remove

Hey:
If you still have the original key order a like blank on ebay and many old time key makers can copy it without any problems, (or you with a file) You just need to make sure if it is left or right handed, shank and groove can be either way, just match blank to yours.
Uncut Key for Honda Motocycle CBR1100 CBR929 ST1300 599 | eBay or http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Blank-...2e&vxp=mtrhere
for example.

CBR key blank info
Hey:
Sprock, I don't think you can get much cheaper than .01 cent and free shipping from the 2nd seller listed with no bids. I won 5 auctions from them awhile back and got 5 blanks shipped to the door, for a nickle total. I figured they would not ship them, but they did.http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13519545727711

Nice Dub - last time out I got 3 diif types as there are 3 diff types of keys to be used
in the diff gens and I had to order some for my Buddy with the 96 too
Think the order was for 15 blanks and cost me under 10 bucks
That link of yours in the long shank version - but does not look like a 1000F blank
Here's a two year old thread I had
https://cbrforum.com/forum/alternati...ys-cut-114114/
and actually ranchome sent me some ilco blanks too - kinda all set for keys - forever myself

Hey:
Good deal on the keys Sprock.
Just FYI, if you get the longs they can be made to work for long or short as long as they have the groves on the same side. Also a newer ignition tumbler (long key type) will work as long as you change the bottom to the older type connector. I put a newer RC-51 (A spare from my old RC) tumbler on my hi miles 88 CBR when I converted to the newer wiring harness/alternator/reg/ret, for ease of parts. The old one still works, but will take any key from anything nowadays and being that, it is now on a trail bike. All the tumblers have been changed to match so 1 key still does all locks. That was a pain, and I rather have 2 diff keys than do that again.
