Jerking/hesitation
Hello new to forum:
I just bought A 1993 Cbr1000f W/stage 2 jet kit so I was told it had and a V&h Exhaust.
OK the problem is around 2800-3200 RPM 3rd gear it makes a weird noise and jerks around I don't notice it as much at 55-65 Mph or at all during a high speed take off.
When i pull the clutch in it goes a way the chain and sprockets look good about 1/2 worn rear tire 98% worn. has 24600 miles.
Any ideas suggestions Thanks in advance.
Will post pics when I get the right to.

Good just don't blow the beejaypers out of them with compressed air or you
may rip the sh!te out of the slide diaphragms
Pull all slides out the top of the carbs caps before going that route
also seafoam now make an aerosol with a long "straw tube" that can be
"shot" down the pilot air holes on the top side of the carbs under the caps
Open all float bowls removes all caps and shoot this stuff down each air
hole until it drips out the bowls.
This method can save you having to pull the carbs completely off.
May not work though if there's a chunk of rust or something in there.
Also check you tank for rust because if it has plenty you'll need to
treat that first or you'll be forever cleaning the carbs.
Ask me how I know this

All good advice !
(ask sprock why his nickname is RUSTY) HEHE
Seafoam at 2x concentration did the trick for me !
A good inline fuel filter is worth its weight in gold with these older bikes.
I hesitate to remove the float bowls due to cost of new gaskets @$90 + per set !
Be careful with them.

Also with the V&H pipe it is critical to get the carbs as balanced as possible.
The 4-1 pipe is a tuned, all out performance header. You give up some low end smoothness for higher RPM, RPM makes HP.
If the carbs are way out of sync, you'd think you were riding a pogo stick at the RPM's you mentioned. It would feel like the tires were egg shaped rather than round. It would go away under load however.
After checking the jets, a good carb sync is needed I think. Even so, it still won't be totally smooth with that pipe.
One more thing, the ethanol in the gas works against you in that same RPM range. E-gas produces a stumble at those RPM,s. That combined with the pipe may make things worse. A more open throttle would clear the pipe and smooth things out.
