General Riding Question - Time/Distance
For you over 40 guys (Im over 50)... How long is too long when riding a Cane 1000? I've heard all day no issue. I heard 45 mins... What are your thoughts.. I want to take a ride from Princeton to Lake George (About 4 hrs).. Thoughts and suggestions?

+1 on that. some days the miles just drift by whereas on other days the miles drag - its not the bike its you. A 4 hour ride is easily do-able but take a break when you need one.

Depends. I can take the Interstate and be up in the mountains in an hour, or take back roads and be up there in two hours. On the Interstate, I'll be surrounded by slow 18-wheelers belching out diesel fumes while they go up a steep grade. On the back roads, I'll be taking slow curves with very little traffic. Some people love highways, and some love back roads. I could only do one hour on a major freeway, but many hours on twisty or scenic back roads.

But yes, the body gives up before the fun stops. 400 km is about a good number.
kiwi JK recently did a 1000 km day as part of a club ride, there is some point though when it just becomes hard work.

700 K's or so in a day is about all I've done in the past 8 years. When I first bought the bike I did a run of 1100K's in under 12 hours, but was knackered I was 56 at the time.....
I found a small piece of closed cell foam under my coccyx helped a lot with "numbum"
I also found that every 160K's or 100 miles, stop, walk around the bike, do some stretches to reduce possibility of cramps. Only takes a minute or two, worth the effort if you're older.
