fuel pump not working

My bike worked OK without a fuel pump didn't it?
Only real problem with running without the pump was you and I drinking way too much Gin. But I'm not entirely sure that was a fuel pump related issue.

I'm almost certain that Woofs solution would involve drinking more beer, and not actually worrying too much about a fuel pump.

That's how I fixed my pump.
Sorry it took me a bit to find the thread
Hook up a curcuit tester to your pump leads off the main harness then hit the starter button. You won't see current to the pump just by turning the key on. Pump won't be energized unless starting or running.
If you find out that you are getting current to your pump, then the problem will most likely be the contact points under the the black cap on the end of the pump
Then go to the above link

That's a bit like how to cook a Galah (a type of Aussie Parrot).
Put a rock in the saucepan with the galah, when the rock is soft, throw the galah out and eat the rock!
But to get back on topic, Kiwi TK's '87 worked famously without the fuel pump, just gravity fed, and it did not miss a beat on the 1500km I did on it.
Cheers, SB
