Default front brakes

Hi my name is Roy and currently own a mint CBR1000f 1989.
I was wondering if anyone knows if my front calipers can be upgraded as the genuine nissin ones are ok but feel they need replacing with different ones. Fitted goodridge and sintered pads. Any advise is really appreciated
Thanks

Might get more of a response if you post it in the 1000F "hurricane" section.
And welcome to the forum!

Try SS braided lines first, they're relatively cheap and you can always use them on your new calipers if it ain't enough. Have a hard time imagining braided + stock calipers not being enough, short of a racetrack and the resultant high heat conditions, though. Well, maybe living in the mountains....
welcome and luck, Ern

First of all; Welcome Roy. You're sure to get more hits if you post in 'our' section with any problems. Some of us rarely venture out.

I'd also try braided lines as the first measure to improve your stoppers. It did wonders for mine. Bear in mind that these are heavy old girls and, no matter what brakes you fit, they take a while to pull up. If I tried hard, I could lock my front wheel on a dry road so more powerful brakes won't stop me faster (I hope that makes sense...I know what I mean).

Regards,

Dave.

p.s. Drop by the 'Saloon' for a few beverages and talk some crap some time.
