Default fairing screw inserts

hi guys
as my bike is going to be an oldtimer in 1 more year in belgium im going to re re register it from uk plates to belgian plates
to do this i need to swap the headlight out as its a uk lh dip beam and i need to buy( done ) a rh dip beam light
the light is held in the front fairing by 4 x 5 mm screws that thread into expanding inserts into the plastic
these of course are rusted solid and ill have to pull out the insert to release the headlight
question is : years ago i could buy with some difficulty from honda europe the inserts
are they still available?? part nr ??

Hi Paul.
I found the same probleb with my fairing captive threaded thingys.Once you have separated fairing parts you can gently warm up the broken stud thats probably in it wth a heat gun you can extract them, by pulling with pliers, as it warms up, I know this wasnt your question answered, but What I did , was to buy some m5 stainless steel rod, and warmed the area for it to go in, then used a heat glue gun to hold in the stud, then you can use a s/steel dome head nut as your securing method to re join the fairings.
And it looks neat.

Default inserts found

as i mentioned i had bought some many years ago and noted the nr
its # 90316 mj1 000
its not on any honda parts list but it is in their general database and available
these inserts are used in many models with screws going into the fairing
on the cbr they are used to hold the middle lower fairing halfs to the side middle fairing and the headlight into the nose fairing
cost is about 3 eur each
they can be extracted buy heating the fairing with a heat gun and pulling out
they can be replaced by the same method and closing the hole and sealing in with epoxy or locktite taking care not to b--- er up the threads
just waiting now for my right dip headlight to arrive

Anyone thought of using clinch nuts and rivet them into the inner fairing to repair fairings? Handy tools although I'm not sure if they'd cause plastics to crack as they're not a flexible fixing.
